Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Live Global Leaderboard ("we," "us," "the Service") at globalleaderboard.live collects, uses, and protects your data. We are committed to minimal data collection and transparency.

1. Data Controller

As the operator is based in Norway, this Service falls under the jurisdiction of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Norwegian Personal Data Act (Personopplysningsloven).

3. What We Do NOT Collect

• No email address. No account or signup required.
• No password. No authentication system.
• No payment card details. Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or billing address.
• No tracking cookies. We use Umami Cloud for anonymous visitor counting. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and complies with GDPR. No advertising trackers.

4. Lawful Basis for Processing (GDPR Art. 6)

• Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): Processing your name, country, message, link, and payment data is necessary to provide the service you paid for (displaying your ranked entry on the leaderboard).
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): Processing IP addresses and server logs for security and abuse prevention.

5. Third-Party Data Sharing

We share data with the following third parties, solely to operate the Service:

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.

6. Data Retention

• Leaderboard entries (name, country, message, link, amount): Retained for as long as the Service operates, or until you request deletion.
• Payment records (transaction IDs, amounts): Retained for 5 years in accordance with Norwegian bookkeeping law (Bokforingsloven).
• Server logs (IP addresses): Retained by our hosting provider per their standard retention policy (typically 30-90 days).
• localStorage: Stored in your browser only. Not sent to our servers. You can clear it at any time.

7. Aged 18 and older

The Service is intended for users aged 18 and older.

8. Cookies & Local Storage

We use one localStorage item (lgl-disclaimer-accepted) to remember that you have accepted the pre-payment disclaimer. This is stored in your browser only and is never sent to our servers. We do not use cookies or advertising scripts. We use Umami Cloud (cookie-free, GDPR-compliant) for anonymous page view and visitor counting. No personal data is collected by this service.

9. International Transfers

Your data may be processed outside the EEA by our third-party providers (Stripe, Supabase). These transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards as required by GDPR Chapter V.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
